Indonesia Water and Wastewater Expo and Forum (IWWEF) is a biennial event organized by PERPAMSI. Previously, this event was known as Nusantara Water until it was finally changed to IWWEF due to various considerations. The first IWWEF was held at the Bidakara Hotel Jakarta, January 18-20, 2011 (IWWEF 2011) opened by the Deputy Minister of Public Works Hermanto Dardak. While the second IWWEF was also held at the Bidakara Hotel Jakarta, January 15-17, 2013, opened by the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia Boediono.
The main agenda of the IWWEF is a forum (conference and seminar) featuring speakers at the national, regional, and international levels discussing multilateral issues and sharing experiences. In addition, an exhibition of the latest drinking water and wastewater products from various companies and institutions, both domestic and international, is held. The exhibition is an effective medium for promoting various superior drinking water and wastewater products. An additional agenda is the PERPAMSI National Working Meeting (Rakernas), attended by PERPAMSI administrators at both the central and regional levels to discuss the organization’s agenda and work programs.
IWWEF was attended by no fewer than 5,000 visitors (consisting of drinking water and wastewater stakeholders) from within and outside the country. In addition to policymakers, experts, businesspeople, and water and wastewater operators, the international event also involved educators and the wider community, aiming to raise awareness about the importance of preserving water as a source of life.
The IWWEF, organized by PERPAMSI and supported by relevant ministries and institutions, ultimately aims to encourage the development of better Drinking Water Supply Systems (SPAM) and Wastewater Management Systems (SPAL).
